HOW TO GET THE PICTURES YOU WANT

The sessions you chose location Central Park help indicate the photographic styles you like. You can help me with your selections by looking for ideas in magazines, books, and catalogs and on the Internet. Bring photos you like from these and any other sources to your session appointment. We will use these images to help you get portraits that you are looking for.

Remember: The more we know about what you want before the start of your session, the easier it will be for you to get the kinds of pictures you like.

Outside Grass, trees, bricks and buildings; outdoor portraits should be casual, and so should your outfits. This is the session for jeans, khakis, shorts, tanks and tees. The best colors outdoors are reds, oranges and any bright colors (earth tones-green, tan, brown, etc. work good too). White skirts and dresses ARE NOT the best for outdoors. Stripes, plaids etc. compete with the background and generally are not as good as solids. It is important that you arrive dressed and ready for your first portrait session progresses.

HAIR, MAKE-UP & TANNING
• Girls, you’ll want to wear your make-up a tad heavier than normal. Bring along extra powder, a brush and mascara. Wearing more mascara than normal will really bring out your eyes and allow them to ‘POP’. Guys, be sure to shave the morning before your session.
• Don’t try new hairstyles right before your shoot.
• Be sure you cover up tan lines – they WILL show. Avoid tanning or sun burning right before your session.
• Girls, don’t be afraid to pull your hair back during your session, It’ll give you an entirely different look. You’ll want to make sure everything’s nice and pressed before your session. Wrinkles will show and we can’t do much about that.
• Don’t forget to bring along jewelry, rings, necklaces, changes of shoes, hair accessories, etc.!!!
• Girls, wear a LITTLE more than your normal makeup. Make sure your mascara is clean with no clumps.
• Guys, please make sure you are clean-shaven. Stubble retouching takes time and never looks as good as a close shave.
